Police Reveal There Are Still ‘Loopholes’ in Ongoing Investigation of Gene Hackman and His Wife Betsy Arakawa’s Death 45

Authorities recently held a press conference, unveiling new details about the actor and his wife’s deaths. In a separate press conference, their causes of death were revealed.

Police disclosed that “loopholes” remain in the ongoing investigation into Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa’s deaths. Officials reportedly gathered key evidence from the couple’s home. According to a search warrant inventory, detectives seized two cellphones among other items.

Investigators are reviewing whether Arakawa shared health concerns with loved ones before her death, with Sheriff Adan Mendoza noting possible signs before February 11, 2025. Meanwhile, authorities found no clear indication that Hackman communicated with anyone after February 11.

In addition, the couple’s dog, Zinna, was sent for a necropsy, and officials await the results. Though authorities ruled out foul play, the case remains open, and any new findings will be made public.

“We consider this an open investigation until we close the loopholes of the cellphones, until we finish out the necropsy results of the canine and the other loose ends that we need to tie up,” Mendoza stated.
