If you were to ask Donald Trump directly, he would say that everything is going smoothly after 10 months in office.

However, some opinion polls suggest that the reality is quite different from that optimistic view.

Economy and cost of living are the biggest concerns.

According to a recent CNN/SSRS survey, Donald Trump’s approval rating has plummeted to one of the lowest levels of his presidency, with only 37% of Americans showing support for his performance. This marks a significant decline from 47% in mid-February, shortly after he commenced his second term.

The survey, which was conducted from October 27–30 with 1,245 adults, indicates that 63% disapprove of his performance, nearly matching Trump’s all-time low recor

Americans are evidently feeling the pressure. When asked about the current state of affairs in the U.S., 68% responded that things are going “pretty/very badly,” while just 32% said they are doing “very/fairly well.”

The economy and cost of living emerged as the top concerns for voters at 47%, followed by the state of U.S. democracy at 26%. Interestingly, immigration — despite Trump’s tough stance — was only mentioned as a major concern by 10% of respondents.

61% believe Trump has overstepped his bounds.

Public sentiment regarding Trump’s policies is similarly critical: 61% feel that his policies have negatively impacted economic conditions, while only 27% believe they have improved the economy. Regarding foreign policy, 56% think Trump has damaged America’s reputation globally, in contrast to just 32% who feel he has made it better.

The survey also highlighted worries about presidential power: 61% of Americans think Trump has gone too far in exercising his authority, particularly with executive orders, National Guard deployments, and international strikes carried out without congressional consent.

As midterm elections draw near, 41% of Americans indicated that their congressional vote would serve as a means to oppose Trump, while only 21% would cast their vote in support of him.

These figures indicate a rising sense of frustration as the federal government confronts what could potentially be the longest shutdown in U.S. history. Meanwhile, Americans are grappling with increasing costs, political instability, and concerns regarding the future of democracy in the nation.

Trump has reacted with anger to the polling data, labeling them as “fake” and continuing his trend of dismissing negative public sentiment.

“Numerous Fake Polls are being presented by the Radical Left Media, all heavily biased towards Democrats and Far Left Wingers. In the Fair Polls, and even the Reasonable Polls, I have the best numbers I’ve ever had, and why shouldn’t I? I ended eight wars, established the greatest economy in the history of our country, kept prices, inflation, and taxes low, and am setting benchmarks for Right Track / Wrong Track for a future U.S.A. Fake News will never change; they are evil and corrupt. But as I look around at my beautiful surroundings, I remind myself, ‘Oh, look, I’m sitting in the Oval Office!,’” he posted on Truth Social.
